Hello Everybody !
I'll show you my own TOP 10 list of Free / Opensource applications which are useful for Graphic designers on linux , so..
1st - Blender
Blender is OpenSource program developed by Blender foundation. and is useful for making 3D models and animations. Blender has a lot of really great features like particles system,physics,hair system (and more..) and of couse Blender has really nice UI (Yes ! blender has nice UI from version 2.5x , but old UI was great too :) ).
So if you wanna make 3D models or animations, so blender is best way for you.

2nd - GIMP
GIMP ( GNU Image Manipulation Program ) is OpenSource app similar to Photoshop from Adobe. But it's NOT Photoshop. It's GIMP. This application is pretty good, and if you install GimpPainter and Gimp Painter Studio it will be really good for Digital Art.

3rd - Alchemy
Alchemy, is really simple, light and fast program. It's used for sketching. Alchemy have some interesting functions as Mirror,Fast shapes. You can sketch in vector or bitmap. JUST GET IT it's free.

4th - MyPaint
MyPaint is OpenSource painting application. I really love MyPaint Pretty brush engine, symetri, slow position, layers and more. You really have to get this !
